Dawgz

Dawgz

Our friend group began at the start of sophomore year
For all our “fallen” friends we shed our tears
Our loss of them made us closer in the end
Now we know we will be forever friends

We’ve had our ups and downs and fights galore
Ori put us in the “doghouse” with the girls, something our friendship couldn’t endure
To them we said peace at the start of the New Year
Bombs dropping and shots fired was all you could hear

So we ended our Friday Horror movie dates
And over who won the tournament, we could no longer debate
The group chat was destroyed, Alec’s Diary forever shattered
At the time we all thought it was the only thing that mattered

Ori K’s transformation from leader to tool
His vision clouded by love turned him into a fool
From Mr. Tough guy to a girl turning him soft
Now he thinks he’s the man when kids crowd to his loft

Not as much can be said for his best friend Britany Di
Heart made of gold, she’s sweet as iced tea
Whenever he loses his way
She’s always there to save the day

Kat can’t always hang, but when she does it’s a party
Not having fun when she’s around is never a worry
Driving us around to the pool all summer
Even though they sometimes fight, Ori, Alec, and Andrew can’t help but love her

Andrew is our 4th best friend (even though he likes Donald Trump)
He dunks baskets, dumps girls, and sometimes gets us all drunk
His playlists - legendary, he’s a spotify genius
He pretends he’s Jewish even though he prays to Jesus

Our friend group we admit is quite crazy
We love chillin at Ori’s or getting a bit wavy
All going in different directions next fall
But Dawgz will always come back together with one phone call

Opening Day

The Greatest Day in the USA
Is Major League Baseball’s opening day
Thousands of fans flock to the parks
Fighting for homerun balls like sharks

From the first pitch to the last out
There is excitement in the air without a doubt
The smell of the peanuts, the crack of the bat
The ridiculous rippling of Bartolo’s neck fat

The ovations from the crowd are long and loud
The players, role models, are making everyone proud
It’s the start of a new life, a chance to shine
Teams looking to make it to a holy shrine

One hundred-sixty-one games left until the playoffs
Let’s see if all these off season-acquisitions pay off
Traditions are great and emotions run high
32 teams just trying to survive

The wait is over, let the season begin!
Good luck to all, may the best team win!
