''Bleeding on Paper''
A large part of growing as a writer is the ability to ''bleed on paper.'' The common novice poet might ask, ''What is bleeding on paper?'' Bleeding on paper isn't as violent as it seems -- all it requires is a little thought and a lot of courage. At the beginning of the year, I didn't enjoy poetry very much -- or at all, for that matter. I soon learned that by expressing my emotions and getting down to the tiniest details, poetry became a lot easier and a lot more enjoyable. I learned that poetry isn't just a one-and-done type of deal; it takes revision, focus, and a lot of blood.
