A dream of mine One supernatural night When I drifted off to sleep And wasn’t sure if I came back To reality
I woke up Or I thought I woke up In a completely different world Where everything was perfect I had everything I could possibly want Or I thought I had everything I could possibly want
Conversations With people I have never seen before But years later, there they were
Visions of the past Glimpses into the future
Bright stars, dim memories Big cities, but such little time To take everything in But maybe It’s our time to realize Where we really are
Everything passed in a blur I tried to remember every second But somehow I felt like I didn’t really need to remember Because after all Who can tell dreams from reality? And then I woke up Or I thought I woke up
I Hate Track
Warming up, nervous as hell Soon enough it’ll be the final bell To the Armory! NYC Freshman champ, I am soon to be Wait it out, all the boring races 2 mile, 800, look at all of those miserable faces Finally my event is called, The 100 meters, most exciting of all Stretching out, nerves setting in The only Asian there like I was J-Lin We step on the track, my heart is racing Put my foot on the block, ready to start chasing The gun fires go, my legs are moving Had the worst start ever, this is far from soothing Approaching the end, I could feel my knee bend
Awkwardly
Pain explodes, my momentum starts to go Get to the finish line, don’t even care about my place If only you could see the look on my face Rushed to the doctor, hurting like hell Doctors’ verdict? Sprained my ACL Luckily I didn’t need surgery The long road ahead was soon to be Done with track for a long, long time The road to recovery is my new mountain to climb
